Recreational Youth Soccer League
Santa Cruz City YSC runs a large Fall season Recreational League of over 900 players, with age divisions of Under-6 (ages 4 & 5), U8, U10, U12, U14, U16, & U19.
Practice begins in late August to early September, with ten games played on Saturdays between Labor Day and Thanksgiving. Teams usually practice twice a week at a neighborhood field, at a time set by the coach. Registration begins the preceding April - check the website for walk-in or mail-in instructions. Teams fill up so register early to ensure a space for your child.
The club depends on parents and other adults to volunteer as coaches. To volunteer as a coach, assistant coach, team parent, or board member, check a volunteer box on the registration form, or contact the Recreational Coach Coordinator if you are interested. Coaches get $50 off the next season for their child's registration.
Referees and Field Set-Up Staff are paid positions. Referees can make $25-$35 per-game and have a flexible schedule.
The Santa Cruz County Youth Soccer League (SCCYSL) runs clinics for new referees. Becoming a Referee provides a great opportunity to support youth sports, a place to share your passion for soccer and a way to earn money while doing so!

Sponsoring a Team
Sponsoring a team is a great way for a business or individual to support soccer and get your name into the community. Sponsor an entire team with a $300 tax-deductible donation and have your name printed on the team uniforms if payment is received before August 15. Early-bird price is $125 through May 15th, $150 through June 30th, and $175 for July till mid-August. To register a player for the Santa Cruz City YSC Fall 2014 recreational league:

No player will be turned away for lack of funds. We want every child to play who wants to play. Please read the Financial Aid section for details.
Refund requests must be made in writing (with a self-addressed, stamped envelope) mailed to:

Requests postmarked before the first scheduled game in September will receive a full refund minus a non-refundable $20 processing fee. No refunds will be granted after the first game.
