Over 200 players participate in Santa Cruz City YSC's competitive soccer program. Competitive teams are for boys and girls ages 8 to 18 who show interest and ability to train and play with similarly advanced players.
The competitive teams play in the California Youth Soccer Association (CYSA) District 2 league (CCSL) and in tournaments throughout northern California. Some of the competitive teams play in the Spring League as well as in the Fall. The club's competitive teams have played successfully in all divisions (Copper, Bronze, Silver, Gold) of their age groups.
The club relies on volunteers to coach its competitive teams. For more information see the Coaches section.
All Santa Cruz City YSC competitive teams hold tryouts in February and March for the Fall season. Other tryouts are held in January or February for those teams which play year-round and have vacancies.
The club uses paid external evaluators in order to receive objective assessment of the candidates. Tryouts for Fall 2015 will be held in Branciforte Middle School and Depot Park. For more information see the Tryouts page.
Several teams, such as U12 boys Sharks 02 Blue, are also looking to add to their roster through tryouts for the upcoming Spring 2015 season.

We have families in need of financial assistance. Use our Sponsor a Player online donation form (at the Sponsors page), or add your donation to your registration fees and include in the same check. Thank you!
No player will be turned away for lack of funds. We want every child to play who wants to play. Please read the Financial Aid section for details.
Refund requests must be made in writing (with a self-addressed, stamped envelope) mailed to:

Requests postmarked before the first scheduled game in September will receive a full refund minus a non-refundable $20 processing fee. No refunds will be granted after the first game.
