Dave Johnston
He has been consistently positive, in every interaction I've witnessed, and displays so much patience with his 6 and 7 year old Wasps. He makes practices both fun and educational and the girls are all so eager to play - we have had exceptional attendance at the twice weekly practices and at games, due at least in part, to the kids' love of their coach. The girls are thrilled when he demonstrates drop kicks, and they quickly picked up on how it works. He downplays the obvious athletic superiority of his own daughter and another second-grader (I believe the rest are all first-graders), and encourages very team-oriented (as opposed to individual) play. He's welcoming of siblings who like to practice with the team, and encourages them to play safely with the younger ones. His soft-spoken manner still carries authority and leadership, and I can't think of a better role model for my daughter to learn soccer with!
