Alice Crumrine
My daughter is not very comfortable with her athletic ability and she is very scared of making mistakes. She sobbed at the first game because she was afraid to play and make mistakes. Nothing her father or I said made a bit of difference. Alice did. She held Elena on her lap and whispered magical words into her ears and Elena hasn't cried since. She looks forward to soccer practice and to the games. Alice is super encouraging to all the players. She is also working hard to show them how to play the game. I have overheard Elena playing with her dolls, telling them to get in this position or that position and what they have to do when they play that particular position. She also peppers her talk with "Great pass!" and "Way to kick the ball!", exactly the way Alice does. I asked her what she liked best about playing soccer. She said she didn't know but she loves her coach.
