Adam Wray

Adam takes coaching seriously, and he takes soccer seriously. Yet he has never put any emphasis on winning. He puts emphasis on teamwork. The girls have learned so much about what defense means and about what offense means. After every game, the girls get in a circle and each player describes something the player next to her did well in the game. He held a practice at the beach. Adam communicates with the parents in a thorough, open and supportive manner. He communicates not only logistics but also the values of his team - inclusion, effort, play. He was explicit with parents that at games he will never shout directions at the players-- and he never has. For Adam, games are about implementing skills learned in practice, and he lets the girls learn and enjoy soccer in the best possible way-- by joyfully playing the game.
