Karen Nelsen

Not only is she a highly skilled and successful soccer player, credentialed teacher, devoted parent, and natural leader, but she does it all with the ultimate of positive and encouraging attitudes. We feel privileged to have her be there for us in this capacity. The way she works with the children is truly inspiring. Each one begins and ends the game with good feelings about the team and about themselves due to Karen’s constant, positive reinforcement. This is not to say that she just pumps them up with a bunch of nonsensical fluff. Being a competitive and seasoned athlete herself, Karen knows how to motivate a player to pull out the best performance possible and finish up feeling good and looking forward to the next game. The respect that she demonstrates and teaches for the players and coaches, the officiating staff, and for the game in general, is highly admirable and contagious.
