The club offers advanced player training programs that utilize different formats than the youth Fall League teams. The focus of the advanced training programs is the soccer player's individual development.
Fall Striker/Goalkeeper Training
During the Fall season Santa Cruz City YSC holds free drop-in Striker & Goalkeeper training for boys and girls who play on one of the club's teams.
Fall Goalkeeper Training
Goalie Training is free of charge to all registered Santa Cruz City YSC (recreational or competitive) players.
Coaches are welcome to attend and help out as needed. Parents are potentially needed to help with the younger age group if numbers get greater than 10-12 players. See the announcement for Fall 2015 sessions for more details.
During winter, in the period between the Fall league and Spring league (competitive teams) or Spring 4v4 (all advanced players), the Santa Cruz City YSC sponsors weekly futsal pickup games indoors (on basketball courts). The games are perfect for developing ball-control, precision passing, and fast decision making.
Coach Hillel Rom has secured the Santa Cruz High gym. Participation is open to all U-8 to U-18 recreational and competitive team players. The program takes place on 10 Sundays between January 4th and March 8th. Games will be 'Pick-up' style - casual, so attending all ten weeks is not mandatory.
