The club offers advanced player training programs that utilize different formats than the youth Fall League teams. The focus of the advanced training programs is the soccer player's individual development.
Spring 2016 4v4 Soccer
The 4v4 training program is back for Spring 2016, running April 15 - May 22.
During winter, in the period between the Fall league and Spring league (competitive teams) or Spring 4v4 (all advanced players), the Santa Cruz City YSC sponsors weekly futsal pickup games indoors. The games are perfect for developing ball-control, precision passing, and fast decision making.
This program will be run on Sundays in the Santa Cruz High Gym at 415 Walnut Street, from January 3 - February 28th. Michael Vahradian (one of the club's competitive coaches) and an assistant will be overseeing all age groups. Players from the SC High JV and Varsity teams will be assisting with organizing players, dividing them into teams every weekend and monitoring/refereeing the U6 and U8 level games. Play will be coed, with the option to make girls teams as numbers allow. Footwear is gym appropriate, tennis shoes or indoor soccer shoes. Shin guards are required.
