Jaws 98 Looking for Experienced Players

The competitive girls team Jaws 98 is looking for a few more experienced players for the Fall season due to injuries of existing players.  The team plays in the Bronze division, and has a great group of girls who love soccer and enjoy the friendship that comes with playing together.

The team will focus this fall on competing in their division, and also giving the girls the best possible preparation for their high school teams. The team is coached by Michael Vahradian, who coached the Harbor High boys varsity team to the league title in Santa Cruz this past fall. If you are interested in trying out, email Michael.

Sharks 99 Looking For a Few Good Players

Competitive U-14 boys team Sharks 99 had their first match in quite sometime in a friendly match against a well respected strong team, Watsonville Warriors FC (WWFC).

For the first game since its re-organization and under a new coach, the Sharks 99 won in a thrilling 5-4 victory after trailing 3-4 around the 60th minute.  Pedro Zavala lead the defensive back line with superb athleticism and focus, to allow the attacking duo of Ramon Flores and Jonathan Sherwood-Flett to put the game away in a nail-biter friendly.  Jonathan had a hat-trick with the winning shot coming from about 25 yards out, while Ramon Flores scored 2, including the tying goal to give the team a winning chance.

This was a great win and confidence booster for the Sharks 99 players, who had NO subs the entire game against the 16 man rostered team WWFC.  Sharks 99 is still looking for players to fill up its roster and be ready for an exciting Fall season.  To tryout for the team contact coach Ivan Garcia.
